YouTube Rabbit Hole: Ozzy Osbourne

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has gone deep on YouTube, especially in the last two years or so. I’ve relied heavily on it, whether it’s watching scenes from movies, listening/watching podcasts or watching reviews, it’s been a lifesaver. It also creates for some odd recommendations and discovery of some crazy stuff.

I am thinking of making this a regular entry, but we shall see.

I’ve been listening to a lot of music on YouTube, which obviously leads to suggestions for music videos and live performances. And once you start following those, you get into some more obscure performances, and some oddball covers. But I will save those for another time.

One man who has done A LOT of performances over the years is Ozzy Osbourne. With Black Sabbath and solo, he has quite the collection of professional and fan made videos on YouTube. Below are a few wild ones.

OZZY + Japanese Guitar Prodigy – Crazy Train

Apparently this kid was on Ellen, but I’m not a big viewer of that show (shocking I know). This is from Ozzfest 2010 and is in Hartford, CT. What an odd yet cool performance.

Black Sabbath featuring Ozzy – Paranoid

Featuring Ozzy??? Unfortunately Ozzy and Black Sabbath were on the splits at this time, but reunited for a one-off performance at the 1985 Live Aid event. This event also featured some other reunions, but that might make another post. Crowd was pumped for this reunion for sure.

Ozzy & God (Lemmy) – Hellraiser

This song was written by Ozzy, Zakk Wylde and Lemmy Kilmister…I might need to lay down after comprehending what those sessions were like. My God! This Frankenstein’s Monster of a song was released by both Ozzy and Motorhead in the early 1990s. This version has both Ozzy and Lemmy on vocals, and it kicks a lot of ass.
