Menches Brothers is a restaurant located in Uniontown, OH that in it’s history claims they invented the Hamburger. I don’t know if this is true, but a simple web search shows the Wikipedia page and they are listed (and if it’s on the internet, it must be true.)
They are a nice little family friendly eatery, but also have a bar area to hang out in if you just want to enjoy an adult beverage or several.
They are currently remodeling, and have added more TV’s and seating.
It’s theme is mostly sports themed as there is lots of memorabilia on the walls and hanging from the ceiling.
The menu boasts over 50 different types of hamburgers.
Today the Louisiana bourbon burger caught my eye.
There was also a green olive on a toothpick sitting on top when it came to the table, I forgot to take a picture before I pulled it off, but you can see the indentation on where it used to sit.
The fries were good, hot nice and crisp, and not too oily.
The burger was delicious, the combination of heat from the pepper jack cheese, crunch of the onion straws, along with the sugary smoothness of the bourbon glaze put together a harmony of flavors.
Meal was washed down with a Blue Moon.
On a 5 point scale, I would give this meal a 3.9.
Hindsight being 20/20, I would request the bun to be toasted, meat cooked to medium, and an extra side of the bourbon glaze to dip my fries in.
If I had a complete do-over, I would try their pizza, which would probably be a sin to order in the place that claims invention of the hamburger.
