Whelp for the third time in the Raiders history they will be moving, but this time finally leaving the borders of California. The NFL announced today the vote for relocation passed with 31 for and one against. I’m not sure why everyone was so for it, maybe they want to expense trips to Vegas now, but I’m not sure how well this will work out.
I get Raiders fans are pissed off, and they have every right to be. They’re losing a playoff team, with a really good, young QB. They’re not losing the Lions, Browns, or Bengals here. They’re losing a contender. It’s also the second time a lot of these fans have had to put up with this, as the team moved to LA in the early 1980s, returning to Oakland in 1995.
If I was a player, I’d be pissed off as well. You’re going from the Bay Area to the desert. Vegas is great to visit, but after a few days you just want to get the Hell out of there, and that’s me. But I am sure 21-35 year-old millionaires will adjust fine to being surrounded by people on vacation looking get blind drunk and make horrible decisions.
These guys get arrested all the time in Vegas being their on their own. Now they will be forced to go there. If these teams were smart they’d fly in four hours before kick-off and then immediately after the game. Vegas PD will love it though, won’t have trouble getting funding now that arrests will be up by 1000%.
