How to Pack Like a Pro

It doesn’t matter if it’s a weekend trip up to Seattle or Vancouver, or a week or more anywhere, I almost always over-pack. I try to think of everything that could happen and make sure I am prepared for it. I always think its a good idea, until I have to lug that crap around the whole time. Well, unsurprisingly, I pretty much do the same thing when it comes to hiking and camping trips.

I just can’t help it. I don’t want to be caught off guard, especially in the wilderness. However, that stuff is always attached to me, which makes it a bit tougher. There’s always a back-and-forth in my mind of what is absolutely necessary and what can be left behind. Although, like a lot of things, keeping it simple is the best policy.

Outside Magazine just posted some helpful packing tips for your next adventure, no matter the season or activity. It’s all fairly common sense, but again, over-packer talking here. Keep your mind on your objectives and purpose, as well as approach packing like your adventure planning: do it ahead of time!
