The Evening Standard is reporting a new study reveals Londoners think they are the most sleep-deprived in the UK. Is there anymore obvious take in the world? What’s next “Beijing Residents Think Smog Might Be Hurtful To Their Health?” This is so absurd, and the least surprising.
If your commute is 45 minutes or less one-way, people envy you. I work with several people who have a two hour commute each way…two hours. I talked yesterday about how awful my commute used to be, and that was good compared to many. Even with a shortened one I still have days where I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at work. As sad as it is, it’s a time saver.
However, London is a major global city. At times it barely feels like the UK its so global, but that means there is always something going on. A coworker just went to see Red Hot Chili Peppers who were playing here Monday through Wednesday or something like that. Weekday night, huge bands are playing. Mix that in with long travel times to get anywhere and of course you’re going to lose sleep. It’s the trade-off for the benefits of the concrete jungle.
